It is a spectacular day in the mighty Colville River valley. It is 4F with 0 wind and a pale blue sky that grades to a sun drenched white on the valley tops. Chris, Guido, and Ned just went off across the river to access our lake sites on the hilltops in the far reaches of the photo to the right.
Ben is holding down the hut today since we still only have three operable skidoos. He is fixing a hitch on one of the sleds that broke off while enroute from Toolik to Umiat during one of the episodes in the vortex like snow dip (creek). And will begin repacking and organizing sleds for the next leg of the expedition.
We'll do a short "science" blog later this evening once the results from today roll back in.
